Luhr Crosby, LLC is seeking Fabricators!

The Fabricator is responsible for measuring and cutting components to specified dimensions using hand tools, plasma cutters, and metal cutting machines The welder is also responsible for joining metal parts together using different welding techniques like MIG, TIG, and Stick welding.

Essential Functions, Duties, and Responsibilities

• Demonstrate expertise in various welding techniques such as MIG, TIG, Stick, and Flux-Cored welding. Ability to select the appropriate method based on material type and project requirements.

• Be able to work with different types of metals such as multiple steels aluminum, stainless, and galvanized.

• Read and interpret blueprints, schematics, and technical drawings to understand project specifications and dimensions.

• Ensure that all welding work aligns with design requirements.

• Repair materials for welding by cutting, grinding, and cleaning surfaces to ensure proper adhesion and structural integrity. This includes removing rust, paint, and other contaminants.

• Operate welding machines and equipment safely and efficiently. Conduct regular maintenance checks to ensure tools are in good working condition and troubleshoot any issues that arise.

• Inspect welds for quality and adherence to specifications. Use measuring tools to verify dimensions and ensure that welds meet industry standards and project requirements.

• Work in various settings, including workshops, construction sites, and manufacturing facilities. Adapt to changing conditions and requirements as projects evolve.

• Maintain a high level of attention to detail in all aspects of welding work. Ensure precision in measurements, welding quality, and adherence to specifications to achieve optimal results.

• Stay updated on industry trends, new welding technologies, and advancements in materials. Participate in training sessions and workshops to enhance skills and knowledge.

• Understand and implement practices that minimize environmental impact during welding operations.

• Fabricate parts to fit special needs of equipment applicators.

• Understand the heating and cooling effects of different materials.

• Will also be required to complete some mechanical duties in order to complete certain welding projects.

Education and Experience

• High School Diploma/GED

Physical Requirements

• Required to lift up to 100 lbs.

• Frequent bending, stooping and standing.

• Overhead lifting.

• Repetitive use of arms and hands.

• Some walking.
