Machinist

Luhr Crosby is hiring a Machinist!

A Machinist is responsible for operating machinery to fabricate, alter, and repair machine parts, equipment and tools.

Essential Functions, Duties, and Responsibilities

Set up and operate various tools

Use precision measuring instruments (e.g., micrometers, calipers) to ensure parts meet required tolerances and specifications

Perform routine maintenance on machines and tools to ensure optimal performance and longevity

Machining and fabricating shafts, bushings and specialty products

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities

• High School Diploma/GED preferred
• Proven knowledge of how to manually operate grinders, lathes, and milling machines
• Math skills to take precise measurements and make calculations
• Demonstrated oral and written communication skills
• Analytical and problem-solving skills to develop effective manufacturing plans based on specifications and to troubleshoot issues that arise during the manufacturing process.

Physical Requirements

• Ability to move roughly 50-75 lbs.
• Remain stationary throughout a shift
